The Drawer Boy

Sep 5 – Sep 28, 2025

Morgan and Angus are two elderly bachelor farmers living a quiet, secluded existence. That is until a young actor, Miles from Toronto, arrives to research “rural life” for a play. As Miles learns about their lives, buried secrets and the bonds of friendship are unveiled, blending humor with heart-wrenching emotion. Written by Brockville’s own Michael Healey, this transformative play blurs the line between performance and reality, letting the power of connection and the resilience of the human spirit shine through.

“Tom Barnett, Stephen Jackman-Torkoff, and Patrick McManus deliver nuanced performances showcasing tremendous character depth and grit. Alan Dilworth masterfully directs with care and sensitivity. This ‘Drawer Boy’ becomes a play of genuine human emotional connection.” – Joe Szekeres, Our Theatre Voice

“The Drawer Boy was one of the best TIP productions I have seen (season tickets for over a decade now!) Brilliantly written, tremendously well-acted and artfully directed! The set was innovative and beautiful! I simply cannot say enough good things about this production!! I laughed, I cried, I was riveted!” – S.C

“Barnett, McManus, and Jackman-Torkoff match one another in sincerity, depth, and comedy. Combined with the intimate set design by Nick Blais, the show made me feel as though I was sitting in another room in their house, listening in…” – Michaela Tassone, Kingston Whig Standard and Kingston Theatre Alliance
