The River
The Great Waterway
Located in a former Canoe Club on the banks of the St. Lawrence River, The Thousand Islands Playhouse has been called “the most charming theatre in Canada” – and can proudly claim the most beautiful setting of any Canadian theatre.
In the daytime, the serenity of the river and the breeze off the water are accompanied by views of the islands, passing boats, and the U.S. on the far shore. Visitors to the theatre may find a classic schooner, houseboat, or visiting island cruise ship docking in front as they buy their tickets. Guests can even bring a picnic and enjoy it dockside, before the show. At night, the moonlight on the water and lights from island cottages across the way, accompany conversation and a drink on the deck at intermission. Cruise and show packages are available, and we’re happy to provide information about the many Great Waterway experiences available in the region.
