National Theatre School (NTS) DramaFest is a high school theatre festival providing students the opportunity to engage in all areas related to the production of a play or musical. Participants collaborate with peers to write and perform original or published works. DramaFest is a platform for young people to exercise their empathy, their listening skills, their sense of community, and to have conversations about the complexity of the world. It is a place to safely explore ideas, self-expression and friendship.

Secondary school drama groups must first enter one of approximately twenty District Festivals held in various areas of the province. Each District is organized by geographic location. District finalists are then invited to one of six Regional Festivals (North, East, South, West, Central and Toronto), each usually running three to six nights. Two Outstanding Productions from each Regional Festival are invited to perform at the Ontario Showcase and enjoy a weekend of workshops, social events and of course performances!

In 2025, the Ontario Showcase is being hosted at the Thousand Islands Playhouse in Gananoque, Ontario. Each day will include three different schools’ performances.
