Community Involvement

The Thousand Islands Playhouse takes its mandate very seriously: “…Behind all of our activities is the desire to help develop a creative, dynamic and compassionate community by encouraging participation in arts activities. This goal acts as a guiding philosophy in all that we do as we feel a deep responsibility to enriching and contributing to the community in which we work…”

We are proud to participate in our vibrant community.

• We offer reduced rental rates for local and regional not-for-profit organizations to enable them to take advantage of our excellent facilities.
• We donate approximately 300 tickets each year to charitable fund-raisers and organizations as prizes and silent auction items.
• We provide Gananoque residents with special ticket deals, allowing audience members to attend who might not otherwise be able to.
• The Playhouse frequently loans props and costumes to school productions and the Young Company performs.
• The Playhouse offers drama workshops at heavily subsidized rates to schools across the region.
• Playhouse staff-members often lend their expertise in the organization of events and local theatre productions – this connects us with the wonderful ideas and events happening in our community.
