Thousand Islands Playhouse

The deadline to submit to the 2016 OAC THEATRE CREATORS’ RESERVE is October 1, 2016 at 5pm.

The Theatre Creators’ Reserve program, funded by the Ontario Arts Council, offers playwrights and creators the opportunity to develop new work. Projects at all levels of development (except for production-ready scripts) are eligible to receive this funding. Creators may use the funding to research a potential work, write a first draft, work on subsequent drafts of a play, or create in the rehearsal hall. The grant may not be used for productions.

It is of particular interest to the Thousand Islands Playhouse (but not mandatory) if the piece originates in this region, explores the history of the region, or deals with themes that are relevant to this community.

REQUIRED MATERIAL:

  • -Project description – please include the impulse behind the play, specific objectives for this phase of development (with a timeline), developmental process (improvisation, writing, collective creation etc.), long-term goals, as well as overall vision (maximum 3 pages, double-spaced);
  • -Writing sample – either from the piece being developed or a sample of past work (maximum 10 pages, double spaced)
  • -Resume for each artist currently involved in the project (max 2 pages per artist)
  • -Audiovisual support (optional)
  • -A self-addressed stamped envelope (optional)
  • -3 copies of OAC form
