After a long line of madcap adventures, including several car crashes, time in jail and a daring escape, dressing as a washerwoman and crossing paths with gypsys, Toad of Toad Hall finally learns a lesson thanks to his friends, and begins to recognize the value of home and friendship.

In paying homage to the well loved characters and author Kenneth Grahame’s celebration of adventure and friendship, this new adaptation of The Wind in the Willows is full of silliness and hi-jinks, music, puppets… and, of course, cars! The story will be delivered to your students with all the talent and energy for which the Playhouse Young Company has become famous.

The number one goal of the Young Company has always been to engage this region’s young people in the joys of art, music and theatre in particular. We deliberately choose a story which can be read to students in an effort to encourage both literacy and innovative approaches to storytelling. There is always time for a Q&A after the show, so your budding theatre critics can ask questions and make comments on the performance.

The Thousand Islands Playhouse Young Company has been bringing energetic, high calibre theatre to young people in this region for over 16 years. This troupe of young professionals, under the expert guidance of director Andrew Shaver, is a wonderful ambassador for the Playhouse, each year involving thousands of captivated young people in the magic of reading, singing, storytelling and theatre.
