True Canadiana. The acclaimed highly theatrical, touching and true story of no-nonsense Nurse Mrya Bennett, who comes from London to an isolated community in Newfoundland in 1921, and stays in spite of huge odds against her. One of the first group of outport nurses who became a legend for performing a variety of medical tasks, from delivering babies and setting bones to extracting teeth – while traveling by foot, horse, dogsled and boat along the 320-kilometer rugged Northern Peninsula.
