The New Canadian Curling Club
Thursday October 10th at 11:00am

About the show:
The New Canadian Curling Club tells the story of a Chinese physician, a Jamaican-Canadian Tim Hortons manager, a South Asian father, and a 17-year-old Syrian refugee who live in a rural Canadian town. In an effort to welcome newcomers to Canada, the community offers a free ‘Learn-to-Curl’ class. But when their teacher slips on the ice and breaks her hip, they send in Stuart MacPhail (a former curling champion) as their new coach. The only problem is… Stuart has some strong opinions about immigrants and has trouble keeping his opinions to himself. What follows is an inspiring and hilarious story of a group of would-be athletes who face off against local prejudice, become a true team, and claim their identity as “new Canadians”.
