The annual Playhouse trip to the Stratford Festival departs from Brockville, Gananoque, and Kingston on Friday, September 6, 2019. Enjoy a delicious boxed lunch served by your escorts on board the coach bus as you relax on a comfortable, air conditioned trip to the city of Stratford, ON.
Our first stop will be the delightful hamlet of Shakespeare. Here you can visit any number of wonderful quilt, antique, and specialty giftware shops. From there it is just a short drive to Stratford. After checking in at The Arden Park Hotel, you will enjoy a fabulous dinner at Revival House before an evening performance of The Front Page at the Festival Theatre.
Saturday morning begins with breakfast at the hotel, followed by a backstage tour of the Festival Theatre. You will have some leisure time to catch a glimpse of one of the famous swans before having lunch at the eatery of your choice. On Saturday afternoon, you will take in a matinee performance of The Merry Wives of Windsor at the Festival Theatre and then return to the hotel for a lovely buffet dinner. After dinner, you will return to the Festival Theatre for a performance of Billy Elliot The Musical.
Sunday begins with breakfast at the hotel before embarking on a tour of the Festival Theatre’s landscaped grounds, including the Elizabeth Garden and the spectacular Arthur Meighen Gardens. You will then gather for a private conversation period with the Stratford Festival Artistic Director Antoni Cimolino. After the tour you will depart for New Hamburg and enjoy a delightful lunch at The Puddicombe House. You will then board the bus for the journey home with a stop in Colborne at The Big Apple.
