Description: Internationally-renowned pianist performs at Thousand Islands Playhouse

Swiss-born pianist, Gilles Vonsattel, performs August 31 as part of the Tuesday Night classical
music series at Thousand Islands Playhouse.

Vonsattel won the Walter W. Naumburg Foundation’s 2002 International Piano Competition,
made his Lincoln Center debut that year at Alice Tully Hall, and has appeared as a soloist
with the Utah Symphony, Naples Philharmonic, Grand Rapids Symphony, National Symphony
of Ireland, the Boston Pops, and the Orchestre de Chambre de Genève. With repertoire that
ranges from Bach’s Art of the Fugue to Xenakis, Mr. Vonsattel is an artist of uncommon breadth
equally at home in solo and chamber music.

This is the fourth and final performance in the popular Tuesday Night Series, which brings
together noted CBC radio personality Eric Friesen in conversation with great musicians
performing first rate classical music at the Springer Theatre at the Thousand Islands Playhouse.
